Today we really started having a conversation about childhood hunger, the Sodexo grant, and where to start.
Our first step was to come up with a name or catch phrase for our project. After many suggestions and much voting, we came up with: Outrun Childhood Hunger.
Our second step was to work on a press release for the project. Thank goodness we had a template. This tied in well with our media literacy TEKS. We talked briefly about who would you send a press release to and why. We will dig deeper into this conversation next week.

After reading the book we made some text-to-world connections. Then students wrote down their questions about hunger.
